Scientific Games has extended its partnership with the Arizona Lottery, with the two companies agreeing to collaborate on technology and systems software for a period of three additional years. This marks a 43-year collaboration between the two organizations, which will now be extended further.
As part of the new partnership, Scientific Games is delivering its next-generation vending options for the lottery through the SCiQ solution. Scientific Games has been introducing and running systems tech in Arizona for decades now with the most recent iteration arriving in the market in 2016, leading to 40 lottery system implementations and conversions since then.
Commenting on this new opportunity, Arizona Lottery CEO Alec Thomson has welcomed the opportunity to celebrate yet another chapter in the important and generation-spanning collaboration. Thomson added:
"Scientific Games has been a trusted partner of the Arizona Lottery for 43 years and we are proud to continue our partnership into the coming years. As industry leaders in central gaming system operations for lotteries across the U.S. and the world, Scientific Games will continue to support the Arizona Lottery in driving meaningful impact for Arizona communities through ticket sales."
The partnership was similarly welcomed by Scientific Games President, Americas & Global Instant Products John Schulz who was also pleased to continue writing the ongoing chapter between the two organizations that started more than four decades ago.
He noted that the company has been actively supporting the Arizona Lottery over the past eight years with its lottery gaming system technology, and that the in-house team at Scientific Games has dedicated an extensive effort to build cutting-edge products and build a strong rapport between the Lottery and the organization.
These in-house specialists have gone to great lengths to spearhead the modernization effort within the Lottery and provide it with the extensive technological solutions that shape its good fortunes to this very day, with the goal being to drive "maximum funding" for good causes in Arizona.
In the meantime, Scientific Games has been similarly introducing changes to its leadership, with the appointment of Gina Smith as the company’s VP for Lottery Enterprises Systems.
The company similarly pursued another expansion with the Washington Lottery, consolidating its footprint in yet another important jurisdiction in the United States.
Overall, Scientific Games’ most recent tie-up with the Arizona Lottery is intended to help the organization to prepare itself for its "next era of profit," which will ultimately circle back into various causes across the state.
