The leading provider of lottery games, analytics, technology and services to operators across the globe, Scientific Games, announced an important partnership extension.
Last week, the company confirmed it will continue to hold the role of primary scratch game provider for Washington's Lottery.
The latest agreement builds upon a solid foundation between the duo which dates back four decades.
Scientific Games was designated as the primary scratch game provider for Washington's Lottery in 2014.
Now, per the terms of the extended agreement, the company will retain this position for six more years.
The new multi-year contract includes a provision for an extension of the agreement between the duo for up to four years.
This otherwise means that under the full term of the contract, Scientific Games can retain the primary scratch game provider role for the lottery for the next decade.
The success of the collaboration between the leading lottery provider and Washington's Lottery is evident from the revenue reported by the Lottery.
In the last decade, gross gaming revenue reported by the Lottery increased by 60%, a figure that is a testament to the potential of the collaboration.
There's a range of different games that players of the lottery enjoy.
Notably, Washington's Lottery's players like the branded scratch games, LOTERIA, which are available at $2, $5, $10 and $20 price points.
The popularity of LOTERIA games is unquestionable, considering that they have generated a revenue north of $460.4 million for the Lottery.
John Schulz, Scientific Games' President of Americas and Global Instant Products, shared his excitement about the latest collaboration in a statement.
"It is a pleasure to continue our collaboration with Washington's Lottery on its very successful product portfolio as primary instant game provider," he revealed.
Finally, Schulz pointed out: "The Lottery's team has always embraced innovation and is willing to try new ideas that entertain players and drive more funding for vital programs in the state."
Gaylene Gray, Washington's Lottery's Instant Product Manager, was similarly delighted about the deal, and explained: "We've been able to offer our players entertaining scratch game experiences while responsibly driving more funding for the good cause programs that enrich our communities."
Finally, Gray said: "We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Scientific Games as into the next phase of innovation and growth for our products."
Earlier this month, Scientific Games strengthened its senior-level team by hiring Amy Steinman.
Joining the company, the senior exec with extensive experience was appointed to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer.
