The world's largest creator, producer and manager of lottery games, Scientific Games (SG), continues to grow its footprint in the United States.
This week, the company confirmed it signed a new deal with the Ohio Lottery.
Under the terms of the new collaboration, which follows a competitive procurement process by the state, SG ultimately emerged as the winner of the bid, designating it as the Ohio Lottery's new lottery gaming system technology provider.
Thanks to the new collaboration, the Lottery will benefit from SG's Momentum ecosystem, including its innovative business intelligence tool, Infuse, and advanced central gaming system, AEGIS.
Moreover, the Lottery will access the company's innovative point-of-sale terminals, WAVE and its digital content system, Lottery InMotion.
Those features are ultimately expected to strengthen the offering of the lottery operator in Ohio, elevating the experiences for the players.
Thanks to SG's PlayCentral suite of self-service machines, the Lottery will grant "Ohio players with expanded game content while also supporting new retailer and restaurant locations," as explained in a press release.
Besides innovative technology and solutions, the Ohio Lottery will benefit from the support of SG's team of game, product and tech experts that will ease the management of its services.
Currently, the Ohio lottery operator's scratch-off and other games are managed under a performance-driven program called Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership (SGEP) from a Cleveland facility.
The Ohio Lottery has been using the program since 2019 and has benefitted from a range of features, including statistical data about sales and other insights.
Pat McHugh, SG's CEO, shared his excitement about the new collaboration with the Ohio Lottery.
"On behalf of all the Scientific Games teams who have been hard at work developing a responsible, sustainable growth plan for the Ohio Lottery with our newest, performance-driven technology, we are celebrating this award," he revealed.
Finally, McHugh said: "We look forward to working with the Ohio Lottery to bring new products and technology which will ultimately help support education funding in Ohio."
The collaboration in Ohio comes after SG announced it inked a new contract with the North Dakota Lottery.
Announced earlier this week, the collaboration extended further the successful agreement between the lottery operator in North Dakota and SG, granting the former access to more solutions and features.
Similarly to the deal in North Dakota, the latest collaboration in Ohio reaffirms SG's leadership role as a solutions provider to government-sponsored lotteries.
Proceeds from the Ohio Lottery currently help generate proceeds for the state's K-12 initiative, providing vital funds for vocational and special education programs across the state.
