How? When I got 3 Scatters, a message just appeared saying I had used up all my free spins. Those 40 spins vanished, and I didn't even get the free spins awarded by the Scatters.

I know that something like you describe use to happen but only when you had last spin and scatters landed. It showed the same window that you spent your spins.

Never have I seen that happen while you have 40 spins left. So I wanted to see if you had 40 spins left. Maybe we could get it to the game provider so they look into that. We can't do anything with these slots.
