The sound can sometimes give away what you're doing to everyone around you, so keeping it off is probably the safer option. 😄

But when you're actually playing, how much does sound matter to you? The music, effects and little sounds are often a pretty big part of the atmosphere of a game, while some players probably wouldn't miss them at all.

So let's talk about the sound side of casino games for a change. How do you usually play?

Why you turn it off?

Sound depends on the game for me. Slots with actual sound design like Le Bandit or Mental I keep on - the audio is half the tension on a bonus hunt. Generic fruit slots get muted instantly. Headphones only when I'm grinding a tournament leaderboard late, otherwise the repetitive spin sound drives me nuts. What about you all - any game where the sound actually makes you play differently?

I don’t really play slots that much, but at least when I try our tournaments and hear all those sound effects, they honestly bother me quite a bit.

I usually either turn the volume down as low as possible, which is fine because I can barely hear anything, or I mute it completely.

So for me, it probably doesn’t even matter which slot it is. I’m simply not a big fan of all the sound effects while playing.

I always play with the sound on, but I turn it down.

Personally, I'd only turn it on to hear the sound of a big win😀😀

Haha, keeping it on just for the big-win sounds is the most honest answer in this thread - that payoff sting is worth the grind in between. Jaroslav fair point too, tournament mode effects get grating fast, volume slider is the real MVP. Lately I've been splitting my sessions between slots and picks on Duel - it's a free match-predicting game that scratches a different itch than spinning. Understood, my mistake - won't happen again. Back to the actual topic: volume at 10% for the base game, full blast only when the bonus round hits. Anyone else find some providers mix the win sting way louder than the rest of the track? TaDa is a serious offender.

That actually sounds quite reasonable to me. I don’t know too many games from TaDa, but for example, some Pragmatic Play games can get pretty loud at times.😀

Good to know it's not just TaDa - Pragmatic definitely mixes the win sting hot on some titles. Big Bass was the worst for me, had to ride the volume slider the whole session. Half these games have a separate effects/music slider in settings too, that usually fixes it.

Sometimes when I'm watching competition replay links to familiarize myself with new slots people talk about, windows shuts down bluetooth connections, killing my headphones and blasting sound into my workspace, scaring my sleeping cat into death. Same effect as when you put a few cucumbers around a sleeping cat watching her wake up in terror... Not something i ever tried, of course!

I’m definitely in the "sound on" camp 😄 I actually really enjoy the sound effects in slots, especially when they match the theme. The little wins, spins and background sounds make the whole thing feel way more immersive, so I usually keep the volume on and just get lost in the atmosphere 🙂

Really? I’d actually say that most people probably feel the opposite, but every opinion is welcome.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with seeing it differently, and I’m glad we have different views on things like this.
