A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Hi. Sorry if I have missed anything essential which could have been already posted on the forum - I'm new here.

I am just wondering if Curacao licensed casinos can provide any services to people outside of Curacao at all.

From the research I made, casino must have a local license in the country where your card is issued (as long as casinos are regulated there -- and they are regulated literally everywhere).

I.e. if you are from Sweden, the casino must demonstrate a valid Swedish license. So what's the point of Curacao, Anjuan licenses?

Hey, and welcome. I think part of the problem is that every country wants to have its own gambling rules and collect taxes from locally licensed casinos.

But what players actually want can get a bit lost in all of this.

For example, if you only have a few local casinos with a limited choice of games, you might start looking elsewhere. You probably won’t think too much about which license they have if they offer the games you enjoy. I think that’s one reason offshore casinos still attract players. My colleague made an article about this 👈 and his point makes sense to me too.

Getting a separate license in every country costs money, and from an operator’s point of view, it may not always make sense for the business. Each market comes with different rules and limits, which can make the offshore route more attractive. It's no secret, I guess.

The sad part is what this situation means for people who struggle with gambling. Someone can block themselves from local casinos and still find an offshore casino that lets them play. They’ve asked for help to stop, but that protection only goes so far.

That’s why my colleague Simon has been working on a global self-exclusion solution. https://casino.guru/global-self-exclusion-initiative

I’d say this issue is one of the biggest gaps in having separate systems: each country has its own rules, but players can still move from one site to another. That's why I agree, and I know many will disagree, that from a safer gambling perspective, this overregulation does not work very well in the end.
