Out of curiosity does anyone knows if online casinos are able to change or lower rtp on any slot games on their website?

Yes, they can do so. There are basically two scenarios. When the casinos use fake games, they can change the RTP as much as they want. When it comes to real games, only some providers offer the function of changing the RTP for casinos. It’s still quite a new feature, it’s been developed during past 2-3 years.

If the casino provides games from licensed aggregators, then they have no way to influence this. If the casino has its own games, not a third-party provider, then there may be questions.

Some providers offer a range of RTP on their games, so the same slot can have a different RTP on different casinos.

Legit online casinos have no ways to directly change the return rate of games from external providers otherwise.

Yes, that can certainly happen. I'd say anything below 94% is bad, 96%+ is very good nowadays.

yes - for many popular slots a range of rtps is provided that casino can choose.

Usually it's directly in the slot in the Info sub-menu. Here it is on Hand of Anubis and on Big Bass slot :

Ah yes that's possible, no idea if that's a mandatory thing to display for some jurisdiction or not

Indeed, it is possible for them to do so. Essentially, there are two distinct scenarios to consider. In the case of casinos employing counterfeit games, they possess the capability to modify the RTP (Return to Player) to their liking without constraints. Conversely, in the realm of genuine games, only select providers grant casinos the ability to adjust the RTP. This particular functionality remains relatively new, having been developed over the past 2-3 years.
