Credit Cards Ban?

I recently learned that credit cards might be banned from online casinos in Australia. I know they are already for land based casinos, but did not know that it might be a possibility for online casino as well. I don't really use credit cards when gambling online, but I reckon it might not be good news for those who do. But there is still hope as the government has not yet taken their decision. What do you think will come out of this?

That doesn't make any sense, but I already learnt that many things don't need to make sense in the world of gambling. If they ban the cards, then the payments will shift towards crypto, which means the authorities will have a difficult time with tracking these transaction in case they'll need to do so.

Do you know what's the official reason behind it?

Apparently, has to do with something about the cost associated when making online transactions to online casinos.

Oh, true! I've actually heard about it before. It will be interesting to watch how it's going to develop. But my guess is that players will need to shift towards crypto.
