Hello!

Some time ago, one of my friends had to borrow my mobile phone to play at the casino when there was something wrong with his own phone. Then I discovered afterwards that he had deposited money into his casino account with my card that is in my name. He did not have access to the card itself when this transfer was made. Now I wonder how this is even possible? He does not have the code for my BankID and has not been able to identify himself as me when depositing and his card has been registered on this casino site for a long time. That he has done wrong towards me is obvious. I have raised it with him and he has apologized but has no explanation for how he got it to go through. Now I wonder - does the casino site not have any responsibility and any guarantee that something like this will not be able to happen? Should I contact the casino site about this or make a complaint here? What will it mean for my friend? Even if he has done wrong, I do not want to do anything to him? Or is it better to just leave it alone, it's not a large sum of money but it just feels so unpleasant that it could happen. Thank you for the advice.

Well, first of all, this was really not very friendly from your friend to do. Right?

The casino would investigate this payment only if your friend would like to withdraw his winnings from the deposit he has done with your card. They would find out that the card was not his and would void all the winnings, as it is prohibited in most online casinos to deposit with someone else's card. 🤷‍♀️

What you could do in this situation is that you can ask your bank for a chargeback where you explain that it wasn't you who made the payment, and hopefully your bank will be able to do something.

When exactly did this happen, though? Was it a long time ago?

Thanks for Your answer. I agree that it was not a friendly thing to do and I have told him so to... It was quite a long time ago and it wasnt a big amount so I will just let it be. Lets hope he wins a big fortune on that money from my account - wouldnt that be karma at its very best 😎

I surely get your point.

But if I were you, I would try to ask for the chargeback from my bank anyway. You've got nothing to lose, actually. 🤷‍♀️

Just explain the situation to them and ask if there is something that can be done.

What do you say?
