They are simply not responding anymore. This is so unsettling. Anyone else have any suggestions?

That's the problem with online casinos they can cur you off by blocking your access to their site. The only chance as I see it is to complain to the UK gambling commission as bet Victor fall under their rules and regulations. Alternatively complaint on here and see if they respond the scumbags

I know that if the casino doesn't respond, it's certainly not pleasant. However, your complaint is still open and Nick is trying to look into everything to help you the best he can. So try to be patient even though I know it's not easy.

They responded. They refuse to pay out. They didn’t even say why except that the deposit from September wasn’t from a bank account registered in my name which is semi true since it’s joint, however my $700 deposit and $85,000 winnings were derived solely from a deposit made from a bank account registered solely in my account. I offered to return the winnings from the September deposit of roughly $10k but they don’t have a right in their terms and conditions to not pay the winnings from a deposit made from a bank account in my own name.

Their point is in their terms and conditions is that all deposits must be made with a bank deposit from the name the bet Victor account is registered as. As such they are using that breach to close your account and confiscate your winnings. Why did it take a big win to check back to September? Well that's what they do the SLIMY so and sos. They will do anything to get out of paying out such a large amount, it sucks but that's the way they treat their so called valued customers. Let casino guru handle your complaint but once you have broken their t@cs casinos are ruthless.

There are protections under Ontario law in relying on. I likely have to sue. What they’ve done is so slimy. If they had an issue with the September deposit they had an obligation to raise it then. Not now. And this time the deposit is from a bank account registered solely in my name. I have a case here and since they’re regulated in Ontario they are subject to Ontario law and thus can be sued.

Looks your best option as it is a lot of cash but the SLIMY b#-##'##ds reserve the right to close your account and confiscate your winnings if your in breach of their t@cs. I would take an hour with a solicitor and see who's side the law falls on and if your lucky you can sue.

I spoke to a lawyer. I’m going to let the Ontario regulator work at this first. Apparently they can help.

what bet victor did is actually not permitted in their terms and conditions. It allows them to void winnings from deposits from third parties (so the sep 2023 winnings) but says nothing about voiding future winnings or voiding the $86,000 I won from a deposit from my solely owned registered bank account. They didn’t cite any terms and conditions in their letter - they cited "standard procedure" which makes their case even weaker. Where the hell can a player find their "standard procedure"??

Well looks like you have a good case so wishing you all the best in your endeavours to get what is rightly yours and if the law is on your side in Ontario then that strengthens your case against those slim balls

Thanks. I have a very strong case. One way or another they will pay. And if it takes me suing them then so be it. But I think the regulator in Ontario would see this as egregiously unfair. They have an obligation to make decisions fairly and in good faith. This is none of that. It’s funny their decision doesn’t even mention why they confiscated my winnings of $86,000. Probably because they have no valid reason. They just mention they’ll return the $700 deposit which obviously is not doing justice.

Probably be a bit of time until it's resolved so be patient and stay cool 😎 which probably isnt an option winter in Ontario. Wishing you positive outcome 👊

It’s a really sad situation and very frustrating. It’s hard to be patient and hopeful to that the regulator would do something here. But I supposed I have to let them try. Any other suggestions?

It’s really difficult to stay cool. Even in Canada 🙂

any advice other than what I’m doing? I appreciate the moral support!

I understand their point but that only entitles them to void the winnings from the September deposit. If they thought it was an issue then they should have closed the account then. That term (10.4) does not say anything about voiding future winnings from future deposits in my name. That’s where it’s so unfair. They an obligation to act fairly and in good faith under Ontario law.

their terms (especially section 17) are so broad they literally entitle them to close your account and confiscate your balance for no reason at all. That’s egregious. This situation feels egregious. They took my deposits after September and let me lose but won’t pay out after a win. They had an obligation to flag this as an issue at the time of the deposit not now and in any event that doesn’t serve pursuant to their terms to give them the right to confiscate winnings from this recent deposit. Their email doesn’t say anything about the winnings or why they’re confiscating them which I find very telling in that they know they’re doing something fishy.

I certainly understand your frustration and concern, but you still have an open complaint with us and our team will try to help you as best we can. I see that you have also escalated the case to the regulator, which can be a longer process, so obviously we have no choice but to wait and see how this all unfolds, even though I know it's not what you want to hear. So my only recommendation would be to remain patient, because that is what will be the most sensible thing to do in this situation. You think you can do that? Be sure to let us know when you have anything new. I'll keep my fingers crossed. 🤞

The Ontario regulator won’t do anything. They just wrote the following. So unfair.

Hello Stephanie,

Further to your email to iGO on December 1st, iGO has completed its review of this incident and is satisfied with the Operator’s decision on this matter.

Therefore, iGO will take no further action at thistime and considers the matter closed.

Sincerely,

iGO Player Dispute Escalation team

Betvictor are screwing you over for your money because you broke their terms and conditions on that previous transaction, not sure if there is anything you can do. You offered to pay back your winnings from the joint deposit and they turned down your offer confiscated your money and closed your account. They don't like paying casinos if they can see a way out. Not sure what more you can do.

I know. suing them would be costly and annoying. Do you have any other suggestions? Do you think the complaints department here will be able to help now that the regulator has said they aren’t going to do anything? I’m going to try run this up the flag pole with the Ontario regulator and see if I can get anywhere there with the higher ups. I feel like the people I was dealing with were more junior and they’re just a lower level department within the alcohol and gaming commission

Try and see if the complaints procedure here gets you anywhere, what you have to remember is that Betvictor are a multinational gambling conglomerate and unfortunately you broke their t@cs and they can afford the best lawyers so be careful about sueing unless you can get legal aid which I doubt it could end up costing you a lot of cash if you lose. As it's 85k a lot of dough I would take an hour with a lawyer explain what happened and ask him to look at their terms and conditions that you agree to when you sign up. They will then tell you who's in the wrong and take it from there. Which will mean funding a lawsuit = costly or having to let it go and put it down as a very painful learning experience. See if the team here can get a response from Betvictor and then see what they advise that is the best option. Stay cool and be patient it could take a bit of time. I know it must be stressful as it's a lot of cash and you probably couldn't see any reason why it's not sitting in your bank account right now.
