I gave them a try and they don't pay out. They delay as long as possible (6-7 days) which eventually will lead to the player to gamble his funds away which is a win win for the casino.

In my case the deposited amount was only small and the win also so I did not mind if I would not get a payout, but this is also a casino that does not hold a valid license in my country and should stop accepting players.

Have informed the relevant authorities in my country about it and hope they will sanction them as they did with similar casinos from Curacao.

Oh, thanks for this information maybe it will help others who will want to play there.

A week for a withdrawal is not so enjoyable but it is with our timeframe we give casinos so maybe I would try to be little more patient. But if you deposited only small amount of money then it's not bog deal for you as I can see.

Regarding a license, I noticed that more and more casinos are operating in Netherlands which do not qualify for that.

I'm quite curious with what our team comes and what the review will be.

Well for the Dutch license part, it is explicitly prohibited by the Dutch Gambling Authority to offer your casino services in The Netherlands if you do not hold a license.

In fact, the whole idea of the new Gambling Act as of 2021 is that players should only be able to gamble on licensed casinos with all the needed safety features regarding Responsible Gaming. The Dutch Gambling Authority is actively monitoring illegal casinos and issues fines to prevent that Dutch players end up playing on an illegal casino without the required Responsible Gaming features to protect them.

Almost 3 years further and it looks like that too many casinos violate this and prefer to take the risk as it could benefit them with serious profit (until the Authority finds them and take sanctions).

If every Dutch player that got duped or harmed would claim a full refund within a week all those illegal casinos would leave the Dutch market as it is no longer profitable for their business.

So this sounds like a great system in your country, in my opinion. Hopefully soon there won't be any casinos without a Dutch license wanting to operate there after knowing how high the sanctions might be.

May I also ask if a player from the Netherlands who would play at an online casino without a Dutch license could face some charges as well? This is a question that I really like to know the answer to.🤔

Hi!

Correct to the point.

Still, there is always a dark side, I guess.

For example, some Dutch players specifically follow the UK or German example of playing willingly and for a purpose outside the officially licensed casinos.

However, I truly think this issue is much bigger than this. Although saying the only unscrupulous here are casinos is far too general for my taste.

Have you ever thought about why these casinos keep risking fines by accepting Dutch, UK, or German players? I would be interested in your opinion on that, of course.

At first Dutch players could theoretically get a fine up to €8700 but as illegal casinos started to exploit this fine by threatening Dutch players that if they proceed with their complaint/lawsuit the Dutch Gambling Authority revoked this so Dutch players can remain protected and safe.

Especially as the illegal casinos are in most cases aware of their breach but simply don't care.

Because in some cases the players that reach this casinos are either on a Dutch gamstop, or do not know that it's an illegal casino. And since the responsible gaming tools are very poor on those casinos it is likely that players would overspend their initial budget which is only a big win for the casino owners.

And as the Dutch Gambling Authority cannot track every casino thats illegal instantly the risk is worth it I think.

Very close to my own opinions.

There is even a third reason I know about:

Some players intentionally play in Curacao casinos because if they lose, they immediately ask for a refund, threatening that the casino is illegal in their country. Interestingly, I have not heard much about demanding a refund when they win,...

Many casinos simply refund such players to spare time and nerves.

I'd say, that as long as players create demand, there will be a proper response. It actually does not matter much which sort of players create demand because of the absence of an international regulatory body.

As you said, the risk is worth it.

If the players play intentionally and still claim a refund it is not a good thing. On the other hand the Curacao based casino should not operate in those countries so players wont be able to play and claim.

But since those casinos issue a refund and keep operating it is indeed worth the money as long as the group of players asking fir a refund is too little that it is profitable for casinos.

Not a good thing? Find out if they do it out of themselves and draw a line.

Understand. I like how they protect the players in your country.😉

Hello. Please try to use the "reply" button next time, so the user you would like to reply to gets notified.😉

In this case, I believe that the user above was expressing his opinion about when players do it intentionally, though.🤷‍♀️

It is probably really worth operating in these countries for online casinos, as you say.

Hi, I'd be happy to answer your question but obviously you'll have to explain what you're specifically interested in because I don't know what these shortcuts mean, sorry.

But feel free to tell me what you mean and I'll try to help. 🙂

I think we can agree on that. Sadly, not much to do to speed up the process. In any case, most players would miss Curacao-licensed casinos despite their legal or illegal parameters, I'd wager. Depends on the experiences too.

Speaking of which, have you ever heard of any player fined for playing in an online casino outside the KSA jurisdiction?

Radka

Hi Radka,

No news on that, so far no Dutch player has been fined for gambling on a illegal casino. And it is unlikely to happen too given various reasons. (addicted player, was unaware etc)

Yes it is quite understandable I think and sometimes difficult for players to tell if a casino is legal in the country or not. I would also say that a lot of players don't even bother to deal with it and deal with such situations. But I think it should be fair on both sides. Anyway, you're probably one of the few who does deal with legality and stuff like that. So I think that's mainly why it's this way.
