Strategy: Bonus or No Bonus?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been testing different online casinos recently and something keeps coming up: is it actually better to play with a bonus or without one?

Bonuses always look attractive at first, but once you check the wagering requirements, max bet rules, and game restrictions, sometimes it feels easier to just play with your own balance.

Lately I’ve started playing without bonuses more often, just to avoid the wagering.

What do you usually prefer when trying a new casino?

Bonus or no bonus?

Curious to hear how other players approach this.

I believe that it surely always depends on what bonus they offer. Right?

Then you can decide whether it is better to take it or better to play without it.

If the bonus is good, why not spin it up?

Especially if it's no deposit one, no matter the wager, you just have yourself a possibility of getting something.

I tried my luck last time on weissbet, they had such a promo - but I wasn't lucky enough to spin up some wins to wager it...

Hi Romi,

Yes, I agree — it really depends on the bonus and the terms behind it.

Since you see so many offers through Casino Guru, I’m curious: do you feel wagering requirements are getting lower lately, or are they still mostly around x30–x40?

Hi Hakarri,

That’s happened to me many times — and I’m sure to many players as well. I’ve won something with a bonus, but the wagering ended up being almost impossible to clear.

Sometimes the balance looks great at first, but once you start wagering, it becomes really hard to convert it into a withdrawal.

Anyway, good luck next time!

As I don't work that close with bonuses, I actually have no answer for you about this, to tell you the truth.

What do you think, though? Are they getting lower?

Hi Romi,

From what I’ve seen, most bonuses still seem to be around x30–x40 wagering, especially welcome bonuses.

That said, in one casino I play quite often they recently introduced a welcome bonus with x15 wagering, which honestly feels much more reasonable. Unfortunately I can’t use it anymore since I already claimed the welcome bonus before.

Offers like that feel much more player-friendly compared to the usual terms.

Yeah, that's understandable for sure.
