Case summary

The player from Australia contended that his winnings of $6,300 had been unfairly confiscated after he completed bonus wagering at VegasNow Casino. He argued that he had not been warned about exceeding the maximum bet of $5 during gameplay and believed the retroactive enforcement of this rule was unjust, especially since his withdrawal requests had initially been pending for four days. He sought evidence of the alleged violations and a fair resolution, ideally, reinstatement of his winnings. We reviewed the game history provided by the player and confirmed that the maximum bet rule had been breached significantly during bonus play. As this rule was an industry standard and the breach appeared intentional rather than accidental, the complaint was rejected, as no assistance could be provided to reinstate the winnings.

Complaint Title: Winnings confiscated after delayed withdrawal – unfair max bet rule enforcement

Casino Name: VegasNow Casino

Amount in Dispute: $6,300

Description:

I am filing a complaint regarding the confiscation of my winnings after completing bonus wagering.

I received a bonus and played through the wagering requirements using $1 spins initially. During gameplay, I increased my bets at times and continued playing normally. At no point was I given any warning, restriction, or system block indicating that I was violating any maximum bet rule.

I successfully completed the wagering requirements and accumulated total winnings of approximately $6,300. I then requested withdrawals ($6,000 and $300).

Both withdrawals remained in "pending" status for 4 days. After I contacted customer support to ask about the delay, my withdrawals were reviewed and subsequently rejected a few hours later.

The reason given was that I allegedly exceeded a $5 maximum bet during bonus wagering. As a result, all my winnings were confiscated, and only $77 was returned to my account.

I believe this is unfair and constitutes retroactive enforcement of rules for the following reasons:

1. I was allowed to continue playing and complete wagering without any real-time enforcement of this rule.

2. No warnings or restrictions were applied to prevent or notify me of any violation.

3. My withdrawal was not rejected immediately, but only after a 4-day delay and manual review.

4. I have previously played in a similar manner without any issue on smaller wins, suggesting inconsistent enforcement of this rule.

If the maximum bet rule is strictly enforced, the system should prevent such bets or at least clearly warn the player at the time of violation. Allowing gameplay to continue and then confiscating winnings only upon withdrawal is not fair.

I request that the casino provide full evidence of the alleged violation, including:

- Exact bet amounts

- Timestamps

- Game(s) played

I also request a fair resolution, ideally the reinstatement of my winnings, as the rule was not enforced transparently or consistently.

Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.

Dear VanL,

Thank you very much for submitting your complaint. I’m sorry to hear about your negative experience.

Our position on the breach of the maximum bet rule is closely explained in Fair Gambling Codex https://casino.guru/fair-gambling-codex-for-casinos#max-bets:

The max bet rule is, in fact, an industry standard, just as the fact that a casino has the right to seize the player's winnings from bonus play after breaking this rule. We prefer not to go against industry standards by penalizing casinos that use the maximum bet rule against players from time to time.

However, if you feel like you have been accused mistakenly, feel free to forward me your game history together with a link to the specific bonus that you redeemed and played. My email address is tomas@casino.guru

If there is any other relevant communication between you and the casino, please send it as well.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Best regards,

Tomas

Hello Thomas,

I appreciate and thank you for your quick response,

Now I might have failed to mention, I did purchased $80 bonus buy after i won the $5k Jackpot, while the bonus wagering is still active. The reason was because even with the bonus wagering still active that is how i always play! morethan 7 months. I never have a problem with smaller amount of winning. which is why i don't even realise this was a thing. I'm now hoping to get some amount for Fairplay. since they failed to give me warning while i did the bonus buy.

Please let me know my best option.

Thank you

Thanks for your reply.

As indicated earlier, the max bet rule is an industry standard, used in most online casinos. If you play often with bonuses, you should make an effort to learn what the largest allowed bet is to prevent issues. Use of the bonus feature will breach this rule on most occasions. Please let me know whether the bonus history will be supplied by you to us for review.

Our further assistance directly depends on this information being reviewed.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks for your patience.

I checked the game history you provided to me.

Based on the review, during the time you played the bonus: "Shamrock Riches 77% Bonus", the maximum bet amount was breached to the extent that we cannot consider it accidental and, therefore, might not assist you further in asking the casino to overlook it in this case.

We recommend that when playing with a bonus, you review the bonus rules carefully to avoid similar issues. Please note that maximum bet rules might be included only in the general bonus terms and conditions sections, depending on the casino.

Due to the aforementioned reasons, we will now proceed to reject this complaint. Thank you for your understanding. I am genuinely sorry that we were not able to assist you more effectively in this particular situation, as we always aim to help players resolve their issues whenever possible.

Please remember that you are welcome to contact us again if you run into any problems with this or any other casino in the future. Whether it is a question, a concern, or a new issue that needs to be looked into, our team is here and ready to support you.
