Case summary

The player from Serbia, a high-volume gambler, reported significant discrepancies between the advertised effective RTP and the RTP he achieved. He claimed to have suffered a total loss of $371,917.36 due to these discrepancies. The Complaints Team reviewed the player's evidence and found that the casino's justification regarding RTP calculations was correct, as the RTP is determined over a much larger sample size. Consequently, the complaint was closed as no further action could be taken.

Hey Tomas, just to update you,

I did confront Rollbit support with the RTP discrepancy. I explained that this is based on over 12,000 bets and $4.8 million wagered, all on a single game (Sweet Bonanza), and that my actual RTP was 93.98%, which is significantly below the minimum RTP of 96.49%.

Their response was that this sample size still isn’t large enough to be considered valid, and that everything is simply the result of variance, especially since the game is volatile. That’s basically all they said in response to my concerns.

To be honest, I’m also quite shocked by the RTP data on some of the other games I’ve played, but we can discuss that later if needed.

Hi, just wanted to add that I tried to contact Rollbit’s Co-Founder via X (Twitter) with a calm and fair proposal for resolution. Instead of a reply, I was blocked by both his account and the official Rollbit account, without any explanation. I believe this further confirms that the platform is unwilling to address real user issues or show even the minimum level of transparency.

I’m adding another very important analysis related specifically to the Pragmatic Play slot games I played on the Rollbit platform.

Based on my gameplay history, here are the results:

• Total number of bets: 16,835

• Total wagered: $5,580,001.25

• Total won: $5,274,148

• Actual RTP: 94.52%

The minimum RTP for Pragmatic slots is 96.5%. Based on that, my expected return should have been: $5,580,001.25 x 96.5% = $5,383,522

Which means the loss due to

RTP discrepancy is: $110,373.59

If we compare it to what Rollbit promotes as their "effective RTP" of 98.6%, then the expected return should be:

$5,580,001.25 x 98.6% = $5,501,702.86

And the loss in that case would be: $227,553.61

This analysis refers only to Pragmatic Play slot games, not including roulette or other providers. With over 16,000 bets and more than $5.5 million wagered, this is not a small sample size and cannot be dismissed as just "variance."

These numbers clearly show that I have been consistently underpaid, and the discrepancies are far too large to be considered normal. This is further proof in support of my complaint.

For full transparency, I will also send the complete slot game history file from Rollbit to your email address. It contains detailed data of all sessions and confirms the accuracy of the analysis above.

Thanks for your reply and your patience.

Unfortunately, the justification the casino gave is correct. A game's RTP is determined on the basis of 100 thousand to millions of spins. Considering this, the 3 most played games you gave in your report with a number of game rounds above 10 thousand have an RTP close enough to what would be expected.

Please let me know if there is any information I might not have considered or other information not yet presented otherwise, the complaint will be closed.

I’m struggling to understand the purpose of having an RTP if it doesn’t seem to reflect in actual gameplay. Is it just a misleading number?

Why is there a minimum RTP at all? Does it mean a user needs to wager $100 billion just to reach that minimum?

I’ve placed nearly 13,000 bets with a total wager of over $4.5 million – isn’t that more than enough to expect at least the minimum RTP? Is it possible to put an end to RTP deceptions?

Thanks for sharing your point of view.

From the report you submitted, only 3 games have above 10000 rounds played. Of them, all 3 have RTP close to what is the expected RTP. The law of big numbers tells us that the bigger the sample, the closer the result will be to the expected outcome. Please understand that despite 1 of these games having more than 100% RTP, in aggregate, playing the same game would mean you would eventually reach the expected outcome of RTP lower than 100% since all casino games have unfavorable RTP for the player.

RTP will tell you the expected result over a long period on many game rounds. In the shorter term, you may still be luckier on games with a lower RTP and less lucky on games with higher RTP.

Since there is no action we can take further in your case, the complaint will be closed. I am sorry we could not be of more help on this occasion. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you run into issues with this or any other casino in the future.
