Aliens are here and they look oddly familiar in this bovine themed slot machine with high volatility and an RTP of 96.00%.
Invaders From The Planet Moolah is a royal mess in both the visual and technical spheres. However, it is hard not to be almost immediately charmed by its unique theme and story line.
The creators have built a pun from nothing – the planet Moolah be populated by intelligent cows who come to earth to abduct cow and man alike. This reverses the time-honoured tradition of aliens coming to earth and tipping cows or turning them inside out.
The earthlings, who are adorably represented here by an American rural family made up of Gramps, Gramma, a Cowgirl, and a MAGA looking hick, as well as cows of three different shades.
The characters are rendered in somewhat obvious styles, and the images are very badly optimised for smaller screen sizes. On larger screens, the slot still has the looks of an old fashioned sort of slot, but the world of the slot comes to life.
Above the reels, the cows in their spaceships bob cheerfully, each one with a different facial expression. Winning combos are beamed up by the cows and a nicely designed counter keeps track of the number of cascades.
The soundtrack goes with the visuals beautifully, borrowing ambient sounds and reel effects from the world of B-movie alien horror.
The main game is a five by three slot with twenty five win lines. A cascade system is in place, which removes winning combos and allows new symbols to fall from above. This can result in additional wins.
The cascade system also acts as the trigger for the bonus game which is an interesting choice, though the Bonus is just a basic free spin game.
Players should also note that although there is a Jackpot symbol, it is just the highest paid symbol. There is no jackpot in Invaders from the Planet Moolah.
The Wild symbol substitutes for all symbols. Wilds do not appear on reel one.
The Bonus game is triggered when a given spin results in four or more cascades. The number of free spins the player receives will depend on how many cascades happen on the triggering spin. Four cascades wins seven free spins, five gets the player ten free spins, six wins fifteen, and seven or eight cascades net the player twenty five and fifty free spins respectively.
The Bonus can also trigger at random at the end of a spin. When it does so, it will only award the player seven spins.
The return to player of this game is 96.00%, in the middle of our estimated range for average which hovers around 96%.
The range of bets on the site we tested ran from a minimum bet per spin of $/£/€0.25 up to a maximum of $/£/€125.00 per spin. Unlike most slots, it also provides a bet that can be adjusted penny by penny rather than in fixed increments, allowing for a lot of control over bet sizing.
The volatility of this game is high, allowing players to use it with our preferred slot machine strategies, which work best with higher volatility slots.
Invader From The Planet Moolah is visually hard to get on with at first, but wins the player over with its absurd story line and solidly paced gameplay.
The features are limited but good enough to keep players interested, and the combination of an average RTP with very high volatility works well with our slot strategies.
We highly recommend players give this one a shot.
