Sudden impulse drives lottery player in Michigan to $500K win

The lottery win will help the player clear her debt

The Michigan Lottery released details regarding the lucky visitor, who recently scored a hefty jackpot prize.

A statement reveals that the player decided to conceal their identity.

Although details on the matter are scarce, what's known is that the fortunate woman, a 64-year-old Muskegon County resident, won the first top prize from the Michigan Lottery's 777 Jackpot instant game, for a sweet $500,000 win.

Recently, the 64-year-old woman visited the Lottery to claim her prize.

When asked by officials what her intentions about the win are, the woman revealed: "Winning this prize will allow me to become debt free, and that is going to be a great feeling!"

Besides clearing her debt, the fortunate winner admitted to planning to pay some bills and save the rest of the $500,000 lottery prize.

A random urge brings the jackpot prize

The fortunate woman purchased her lottery ticket from the McCormick gas station on 1845 White Lake Drive in Whitehall.

What's strange about her case is that she decided to buy a lottery ticket out of the blue.

"I hadn’t played the Lottery in a while, but I had a random urge to purchase an instant ticket one day," explained the lucky winner.

Moreover, she added: "I scratched the ticket when I got home and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I revealed a $500,000 prize."

The player's random urge undoubtedly paid off, considering that she won one out of 777 Jackpot's three $500,000 top prizes.

The instant game costs $5 per play and offers odds of 1 in 4.06.

The Michigan Lottery's 777 Jackpot instant game grants players a chance to win prizes between $5 and $500,000.

Since the launch of the instant game back in August, players in Michigan have won more than $5 million in prizes.

Besides two $500,000 prizes, there are also 25 prizes of $2,000 each.

In total, more than $25 million in prizes remain in play from the 777 Jackpot instant game.
