The online platform and app that enables players to safely and securely purchase official state lottery tickets and scratchers, Jackpot.com, announced that one of its players in Ohio scored a hefty jackpot win.
On Wednesday, the platform confirmed that a Cleveland resident, who chose to remain anonymous, scored one of the top prizes from Home for the Holidays scratcher, a sweet $500,000.
The person, whose identity will likely remain a mystery, is a seasoned lottery player.
The fortunate winner confirmed that they decided to switch from retail scratchers to Jackpot.com primarily because of the convenience of the application.
Only recently, the same player won $500 from another scratcher game, Lady Luck. Ultimately, this win motivated them to continue playing and try their luck again.
The Ohio Lottery's Home for the Holidays scratcher costs $10 per play and grants players a chance to win prizes between $10 and $500,000.
After the top prize win by the Jackpot.com user, four more prizes of $500,000 each remain in play.
Akshay Khanna, Jackpot.com's CEO and co-founder. shared his excitement about the latest announcement in a press release.
"We're thrilled for our big $500,000 scratcher winner, Jackpot's first big scratcher winner in Ohio since launching the offering in October," the executive revealed.
Khanna praised the convenience the platform offers, adding that it is incredibly rewarding to instantly check for a prize.
Finally, Jackpot.com's CEO and co-founder added: "While this is our first big scratcher winner in the state, it's likely only a matter of time until there are more, especially given our recent partnership with 7-Eleven in Ohio."
Speaking to Jackpot.com officials, the Cleveland resident said that they plan to save the winnings.
"It feels amazing, a true surprise. I didn't even have to leave my house," they recalled.
Currently, Jackpot.com is available in seven US states.
The platform supports responsible gambling, encouraging its customers to use its spend, deposit and other limits.
In addition, Jackpot.com grants players access to responsible gaming resources, including options for self-exclusion.
Last month, Jackpot.com signed a milestone agreement by teaming up with 7-Eleven.
Per the deal, the platform was named the store chain's official lottery courier service.
