A mother of five from Charlotte, North Carolina was pleasantly surprised by a $100,000 win.
The North Carolina Education Lottery announced last week that the name of the fortunate winner from Charlotte is Kimberly Campbell.
The woman admitted to being an avid fan of the Lottery's Cash 5 game and plays every day.
Ultimately, Campbell's luck paid off after she won the game's jackpot for a $100,000 payday.
The fortunate woman recently visited the Lottery headquarters to claim her prize.
According to a press release, Campbell collected a total of $71,501 on Wednesday, after the relevant state and federal taxes were applied.
When asked what she plans to do with the unexpected windfall, the Charlotte resident admitted that she will put a down payment for a house.
Talking to Lottery officials, the woman said that she felt great after collecting the Cash 5 jackpot.
Moreover, she predicted that further luck may be on her way and jokingly said: "Like Arnold Schwarzenegger said, 'I'll be back.'"
The lottery winner was asked about the time she realized she had won the top prize from Cash 5.
"For the first 24 hours after I found out I was floating on a cloud," Campbell admitted.
Moreover, the Charlotte resident and mother of five said: "This came right on time for me. I'm really appreciative."
The odds of winning the Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598, while the odds of winning a tier-two prize of $250 are 1 in 5,066.
The overall odds of winning any prize from the North Carolina Education Lottery's Cash 5 game are 1 in 10.5.
The game costs $1 per play and grants players a chance to win prizes between $1 and a progressive jackpot that starts at $100,000 and grows until won.
An extra $1 per play allows the lottery players to unlock Cash 5's Double Play feature, enabling the selected numbers to enter a second drawing with a chance for further prizes.
To elevate the excitement further, the game offers an EZ Match feature for $1 per play, granting a chance for an instant win of up to $500.
The recent jackpot win comes after a man's luck struck twice on the same day.
The lottery player who found $20 on the street and then purchased a lottery ticket won a $1m jackpot late last month.
The fortunate Banner Elk resident struck gold after buying a ticket for the Lottery's Extreme Cash scratch-off ticket.
