Michigan woman scoops $1m payout off local instant game

A new Michigan resident has scooped a seven-figure payout from a local instant game, with a Kent County woman winning $1,000,000.

The win occurred in the Michigan Lottery’s $1,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier instant game, presenting an incredible opportunity for the unsuspecting winner.

Big win means winner can stop worrying about her finances

The ticket was purchased at Aikan Liquor at 1640, 44th Street Southeast in Kentwood. The woman has already visited the lottery to claim her prize, with the player naturally opting for the one-off lump sum payment, resulting in $693,000.

Commenting on the experience, the woman said that she was a frequent lottery player and tended to buy her tickets at different locations. On that fateful day she purchased the winning ticket, she recounted:

"I scratched my $1,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier ticket when I got home from the store, and when I saw I’d won $1 million, I screamed so loud that I scared my son."

The money will immediately go towards taking care of financial issues and will make "life easier," the woman attested. "It will also allow my son and me to have a little fun," the woman added.

The $1,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier instant game has paid out more than $16 million so far since it launched in February 2026, with each ticket costing $10 to participate.

The story is reminscent of another recent winner who at first thought she had won $10. Upon closer scrutiny, however, the Linclon park woman discovered the truth.

She had won $635,000 instead.
