A couple in South Carolina have much to be happy about, after they went out for a quick lunch date, and ended up winning a six-figure prize, as confirmed by lottery officials.
The couple had stopped at a QuikTrip (#1113) on W. Wade Hampton Blvd in Greer, South Carolina on their way to lunch. They were originally going to get the Palmetto Cash 5 ticket, but then they suddenly changed their mind and decided to buy a scratch-off, opting for Cash Money instead.
Shortly after, the couple burst into tears, having realized that they had won $500,000 off the game, and had a difficult time grasping the realit yof the win. At first, the woman joked that she probably won $1,000, but then realization settles - there were "more zeroes" to the win than she had expected.
The Cash Money has fairly good odds to award the top prize, set at 1 in 1,560,000. The game is still running, with two more top prizes waiting to be scooped up by - perhaps - another lucky couple across the state.
As to the win, the QT store is also going to get a little something, with the location also getting a $5,000 bonus payout for selling the correct ticket.
