Lottery winners in Michigan score big prizes

A couple of incredibly lucky lottery players scored hefty prizes over the weekend in Michigan.

Two players bag hefty wins from Lotto 47 and Lucky For Life

On Monday, the Michigan Lottery confirmed that one lucky player matched all six numbers drawn in Lotto 47 on Saturday for a hefty $1.1M jackpot.

The day before, on Friday, an incredibly lucky player scored $25,000 a year for life from Lucky For Life, the Lottery confirmed in a press release.

Suzanna Shkreli, the Michigan Lottery's Commissioner shared her excitement about the latest big wins.

She pointed to the positive momentum lottery players gained over the last few weeks which continued successfully with the latest weekend's lucky streak with the Lotto 47 jackpot and Lucky For Life lifetime prize win.

Shkreli also congratulated the winners for the hefty prizes.

The Prizes Are Yet to Be Claimed

To win the $1.1M Lotto 47 jackpot, a lucky player matched the numbers drawn on Saturday, 09-15-16-30-40-44.

The winner's lucky ticket was purchased at Liquor Land on 17934 East 9 Mile Road in Eastpoint.

The $1.1M win marked the third jackpot from Lotto 47 won in three weeks' time and the eighth for the year so far.

The odds of winning the jackpot prize from Lotto 47 are 1 in 10,737,573.

The game's next drawing is scheduled for Thursday and the jackpot is an estimated $1M at the time of writing.

On the other hand, to score the Lucky For Life win, a fortunate player matched the winning numbers 03-15-32-34-37 drawn on Friday.

The incredibly fortunate lottery player purchased their ticket at Jerry's Party Store on 28940 Warren Road in Westland.

The $25,000 a year for life win marked the 14th prize from the popular Lucky For Life game for the year so far.

The odds of winning a level two prize from Lucky For Life, which is $25,000 a year for life for a minimum of 20 years or life, whichever is greater, are 1 in 1,813,028.

The incredibly lucky winner will now have a choice to make.

The Lucky For Life player can collect annual payments of $25,000 a year for a minimum of 20 years or life, whichever is greater or take home a lump cash sum payment of $390,000.

Usually, lottery players pick the lump cash sum and instantly access the prize.

In light of the win, the Michigan Lottery encouraged the lucky winners to contact its Player Relations division via phone at 844-917-6325 and initiate the claim process.

The Lotto 47 and Lucky For Life winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
