It has been a busy week for lottery players in New Jersey after several lucky players secured five-figure prizes.
On Monday, the New Jersey Lottery revealed a total of five players secured prizes of $10,000 or more by participating in different draw games.
The five wins came from Mega Millions and Powerball players over the span of one week between September 2, 2024, and September 8, 2024.
Notably, each of the winners came from a different town and county, reaffirming the interest in the lottery games across the whole state.
The latest and biggest win came from a Powerball ticket purchased at In & Out Convenience Store on 401 Baltimore Street in Philipsburg, Warren County.
The fortunate player who purchased a ticket for Powerball matched four white balls along with the red Powerball to secure a $50,000 prize.
On the other hand, one player from Medford, Burlington County won big from Mega Millions after purchasing a ticket from 7-Eleven at 2 Tomlinson Mill Road.
On Friday, the fortunate player matched four winning numbers along with the Gold Mega ball number.
Usually, such a match would result in a $10,000 win, but in the case of the person from Medford, they paid an extra $1 for the Megaplier option, unlocking a $20,000 Megaplier prize considering the 2X Megaplier applicable for Friday's drawing.
The Mega Millions drawing on Friday saw more lucky players in New Jersey secure hefty wins.
Each of the three fortunate players bagged $10,000 from the drawing.
One winning ticket was purchased at EZ Check on 72-80 Main St in Sayreville, Middlesex County.
Another fortunate winner who purchased their ticket from Shoprite at 3120 State Route 35 in Hazlet, Monmouth County also won $10,000 from the Mega Millions drawing on Friday.
Last but not least, a $10,000 win also came to one Union County winner.
The lottery player who bought their ticket at Mr.Mike's Convenience Store at 2933 Vauxhall Road in Vauxhall was among the Mega Millions players who won $10,000 on Friday.
Similar to other US states, lottery winnings are subject to taxes in New Jersey.
Winnings between $10,0001 and $500,000 are currently subject to a 5% tax, while an 8% levy applies to payouts in excess of $500,000.
