A fortunate woman from Prince William County, Virginia, recently purchased a dozen tickets for a popular daily lottery game.

To her surprise, all of the tickets she entered for the draw on July 30 were winning ones, granting her a prize north of $400,000.

The Virginia Lottery confirmed details regarding the lucky winner earlier this week.

The fortunate woman's name is Rajashri Parate and she purchased $11 worth of tickets for the Lottery's popular game, Pick 5.

Participating in the day drawing, the woman used the same five-digit number combination of 1-6-5-5-9 for all tickets.

Although risky, the move paid off, granting the Prince William County woman $427,000 in winnings.

The Price William County woman purchased nearly a dozen tickets

The Virginia Lottery confirmed that Parate purchased her tickets from Sheetz at 42855 Yardley Ridge in Sterling.

When placing the order, the woman put six tickets for numbers in "exact order," and five tickets on "50/50."

Ultimately, the plays with "exact order" won $50,000 each, while the "50/50" ones won $25,400 per play for a total win of $427,000.

Speaking to Lottery officials, the fortunate woman recalled the day when she purchased the tickets.

"I told my husband, 'I feel like those are my lucky numbers,'" Parate explained.

Once she realized she was the inner, the Price William County woman said: "I started crying. I have no words!"

Profits from the Virginia Lottery benefit education across the state

The Lottery's popular Pick 5 game offers two options per play, either $1, or $0.50.

Players can either select a five-digit number from 00000 through 99999 or use the game's Easy Pick option for a random number.

The Virginia Lottery's Pick 5 day drawings take place every day at 1:59 PM, while the nightly drawings are held daily at 11 PM.

The top prize from Pick 5's daily drawings per $1 play is $50,000.

The chances of matching all five numbers within the exact order are 1 in 100,000, according to the Lottery.

In Virginia, profits from the Lottery benefit K-12 public education in the state.

For the fiscal year 2024, the Lottery's proceeds toward the program exceeded the mind-blowing $934 million.
