Lottery jackpots across the United States continue to drop after a 92-year-old man from Lansing, Michigan couldn’t believe his luck when he discovered that he had won $434,105 from the Fast Cash jackpot game.
Call it intuition or call it superstition - it doesn’t matter as the anonymous winner "knew" that the ticket he had bought for the Fast Cash progressive jackpot were special. He even commented to the cashier that he had a good feeling about what was to come next, and only decided to purchase the tickets after he saw that the jackpot had been climbing steadily without a winner for a while.
Yet, the man’s confidence was initially shaken, though, as he first bought two tickets and didn’t win anything. He then visited a different store and bought two more tickets. One of those paid $50, but the other one had the "59" and "Jackpot" matched, resulting in the six-figure payday.

In the man’s own words, he immediately knew what was going on, but he scanned the ticket just to be sure and confirmed that he had indeed won the big prize. The winning ticket was sold at the Sunoco gas station at 645 Migaldi Lane in Lansing.
The winner was excited about his good turn of fortune, arguing that he was planning to share the money with his family, as he was visiting the lottery office to claim his prize.
The Michigan Lottery also used the publicity around the 92-year-old winner to remind people to frequently check tickets from Mega Millions and Powerball draws, as even though they might miss winning the big prize, it’s still possible to claim rewards as high as $1m.
The Breakfast Club lottery club in Michigan claimed the $842m Powerball jackpot in June, the largest in history. Jackpot wins have been quite frequent all over the nation, with a 72-year-old woman from Illinois winning $1,000,000 from the state lottery.
Another senior, Donna Osborne, won $5m from a Pennsylvania Lottery’s MONOPOLY Own It All Scratch-Off ticket just this week.
