Second chance game awards $100K to Michigan lottery player

A lottery player from Michigan was pleasantly surprised and stunned at the same time once he was notified that he won a $100,000 second chance prize.

Earlier this week, the Michigan Lottery confirmed in a press release that a 42-year-old man from Macomb County was the latest winner of a $100,000 second chance prize from $300,000,000 Extraordinaire's second chance game.

The lottery player, who chose to remain anonymous, entered the game's second chance draw by registering non-winning tickets via the Michigan Lottery app.

A total of ten $300,000,000 Extraordinaire second chance drawings are scheduled to take place with each draw awarding two $100,000 prizes.

The Macomb County resident scored the sweet prize from the drawing on October 29.

However, the fortunate player only recently visited the Michigan Lottery to claim his prize.

Speaking to Lottery officials, the man said: "It's hard to explain the feeling of winning $100,000."

The $100,000 second chance prize winner added: "You always dream of sitting in this room at the Lottery headquarters receiving a big check, so it’s pretty unbelievable to actually be here."

When asked about his plans for the windfall, the 42-year-old lottery winner said that he would pay bills and also buy furniture for his new house.

Recalling the day he was notified about the $100,000 win, the Macomb County man remembered receiving a voicemail from the Michigan Lottery.

Saying that he was "stunned" by the news that he scored a $100,000 prize, the man said that he replayed the message a dozen times.

"I had a hard time believing it was real until I confirmed the phone number on the Lottery website and found an email from the Lottery confirming my prize," the winner said.

$300,000,000 Extraordinaire offers a range of prizes and a second chance drawings

The Michigan Lottery's $300,000,000 Extraordinaire instant game costs $50 per play.

The game grants players a chance to win a prize between $50 and $6m.

While there are more than 834,000 prizes of $50 remaining in play, only two top prizes are currently up for grabs.

The overall odds of winning any prize from the $300,000,000 Extraordinaire instant game are 1 in 3.10.

On the other hand, the game's second chance promotion will award two prizes of $100,000 each in ten drawings.

There are two remaining second chance drawings for the game with the next one scheduled for November 26 and the one after that planned for December 17.

After that, in 2025, there will be five more 300,000,000 Extraordinaire second chance drawings.
