Funds locked in account after self-exclusion

Question for you all, may seem stupid and I think we already know the answer. My boyfriend submitted a self exclusion from a website on Friday, didn’t go through right away and Saturday he won 23,000 on the same website. He pulled out 1000$ of it to start to see if it would work since it said it didn’t accept our bank and he had to open a new bank account. Yesterday the 1,000 deposited. Today the self exclusion went through and he’s now locked out of the account with 22,000 sitting there.

Is there a way he can get around the self exclusion at least just to get the funds. From what we’re searching the answer is a big fat no. I told him to at least contact support and try but he’s basically beating himself up rn. Maybe we could get around it by the fact they didn’t process the exclusion when he submitted it and let him keep playing, win the money then shut down his account? Idk.

I was told to come here and ask for advice.

Hello,

despite not being familiar with the casino in question, I can say that, in general a self-exclusion should not by any means prevent players from being paid. It is supposed to be a tool to prevent further playing.

May I know what the casino told your boyfriend? It is really important to know the casino's stance on this.

Furthermore, may I know where he encountered this situation?

I'll get back to you.
