Launch rocket
  • DraftKings has launched its first online sportsbook in Puerto Rico, the second such platform outside the United States
  • The local sportsbook is a continuation of an existing partnership between DraftKings and the Foxwoods El San Juan Casino
  • Only Puerto Rico residents will be able to place a bet on the online sportsbook

Following a partnership originally announced on November 17, 2026, the Foxwoods El San Juan Casino and DraftKings have finally taken their alliance a step further by launching a fully-fledged online sportsbook locally in Puerto Rico.

DraftKings pushes forward with online sportsbook in Puerto Rico

This move effectively expands DraftKings’ offer to 26 US states, as well as the District of Columbia, and Ontario, Canada. In a statement, the company outlined the next chapter for its operations in the US territory and what it meant for local sports aficionados with a soft spot for gambling.

"Puerto Rico has a passionate sports community, and launching our online sportsbook allows us to meet fans where they are."

"With retail already live at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino, mobile represents the next step in expanding the DraftKings experience across the island," confirmed Gregory Karamitis, DraftKings EVP and General Manager of Sports.

The Puerto Rico arrangement is slightly different from how it works on the mainland, however, as the online sportsbook is only reserved for residents. Visitors would not be able to place a wager, for example.

DraftKings is intent on expanding its offer in existing and new markets

DraftKings is also closing the gap on its local competitors, with BetMGM and Caesars, as well as FanDuel, also running sports betting operations locally. Online casinos remain out of reach for the self-governed territory.

DraftKings has been expanding recently, planning a prediction market push even at the expense of the company’s ties to the American Gaming Association.

Besides this, both DraftKings and FanDuel are now mulling an entry into Arkansas, despite the strict revenue-sharing model that mandates that 51% of revenue be shared with the local partner.

Besides this, DraftKings recently launched Spanish-language versions of its sportsbook and online casino, fanning out its demographic outreach in the United States and beyond.
