Virginia lottery players score big from New Year's Millionaire Raffle

Celebrating the New Year, the Virginia Lottery organized a special New Year's Millionaire Raffle.

Five players take home $1m prizes each

The raffle handed out seven prizes of $100,000 each, as well as five $1m prizes.

On Wednesday, the Virginia Lottery announced that the winning numbers for the raffle have been drawn, confirming details regarding the fortunate winners.

Notably, five incredibly lucky players across the state won $1m each.

In a press release, the Lottery revealed that ticket #533140 purchased at 7-Eleven on 3310 Church Road in Henrico won $1m.

The holder of ticket #229618 bought at Food Lion on 30 Windward Drive in Fishersville, as well as ticket #081604 purchased at Lake Mart & Deli on 4795 Scruggs Road in Moneta have also won $1m each.

The Lottery's New Year's Millionaire Raffle saw $1m prizes arrive to ticket #074973 purchased by a lucky lottery player at Schmitz Sunoco on 42800 Creek View Plaza in Ashburn.

Last but not least, a lottery player who bought their ticket #068764 at McNair Farms Sunoco on 13470 Coppermine Road in Herndon also won $1m.

Currently, the profits of the Virginia Lottery benefit K-12 education across the state.

Per data from the Lottery, for the fiscal year 2024, it helped raise more than $934m for K-12 education.

The aforementioned figure represents approximately 10% of the total K-12 school budget in Virginia. This undoubtedly points to the importance of the Lottery in funding school programs across the state.

Seven prizes of $100K each go to players across Virginia

As noted, besides the million-dollar prizes, Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle awarded seven ticket holders a prize of $100,000 each.

Per the Lottery's recent statement, the holder of ticket #521879 bought at The Cave on 1397 Fincastle Turnpike in Tazewell won $100,000, while another such prize was won by ticket #437563 bought in Yorktown.

A prize of $100,000 each was won by tickets with numbers 415658, as well as 404211, purchased in Midlothian and Marshall.

The holder of ticket #334183, purchased at Fifth Street Exxon on 1154 5th Street, SW in Charlottesville, ticket #217055, bought at Food Lion on 1029 South Main Street in Woodstock, as well as ticket #079309 purchased in Amelia have also won $100,000 each.

Besides the aforementioned $100,000 and $1m prizes, the New Year's Millionaire Raffle awarded another 1,000 tickets with $500 each.
