The popular website and app that enables players across the United States to purchase official state lottery tickets and scratchers, Jackpot.com, announced that one of its customers in New Jersey recently scored a multi-million-dollar win.
On Friday, the website and app that is available to customers in eight US states confirmed that a player from New Jersey scored a sweet $2m Powerball win.
The incredibly fortunate lottery player, whose name was not publicly released, purchased their ticket via the Jackpot.com app.
In a statement, the lottery courier confirmed that the lucky winner was a relatively new player on Jackpot.com, considering that they registered only three weeks ago.
Besides New Jersey, Jackpot.com is available in other states, including Alaska, Connecticut and Arizona.
The popular lottery courier also caters to customers in Texas, Ohio, New York and Massachusetts. Still, Jackpot.com constantly eyes expansion and looks forward to growing its footprint across the country.
Last year was a busy one for lotteries across the US.
The year started with a mind-blowing $842.2m Powerball jackpot that was won by an incredibly lucky player on New Year's Day.
Then, in March, a staggering $1.13bn Mega Millions jackpot was won.
Continuing the record-breaking streak of jackpots, one incredibly lucky Powerball player scored a $1.326bn jackpot in April.
The recent win on Jackpot.com came ahead of the Mega Millions drawing where a jackpot of approximately $1.2bn was up for grabs.
Surprisingly, after several months with no jackpot winner, the grand prize finally dropped on the Mega Millions' latest drawing.
The draw on Friday produced a single winner, who scored the mind-blowing jackpot of $1.269bn. This prize was one of the largest in the history of the game, taking fifth place.
Focusing once again on the $2m win via Jackpot.com, the lottery courier's CEO and co-founder, Akshay Khanna, shared his excitement.
"This time of year is always busy for the lottery industry, and now even more than usual given all the buzz around the over one billion dollar Mega Millions jackpot, but it's great to celebrate any life-changing win," he revealed.
Khanna added that Jackpot.com grants players in a number of states the option to purchase lottery tickets from the convenience of their smartphone or online.
Finally, the executive explained: "We are very excited to award this prize to our winner and hope people continue to leverage the ease and accessibility of ordering lottery tickets digitally, you never know if you'll be the next winner."
It was back in May this year when Jackpot.com entered New Jersey.
Since the entry of the lottery courier in the Garden State, an uptick in lottery sales was observed, considering that the fiscal year 2024 sales hit $3.63bn.
