A Maryland lottery player will help his mom remodel a bathroom after winning a hefty prize.
On Thursday, the Maryland Lottery uncovered details regarding the latest Pick 5 winner, a Prince George County resident who chose the nickname "Magic Touch," a press release reveals.
The fortunate lottery player, described by the Maryland Lottery as a retired federal worker, tried his luck with the popular game, Pick 5.
The Prince George County resident played his birthday digits and was pleasantly surprised after hitting a top prize from Pick 5, a sweet $50,000.
Speaking to Lottery officials, "Magic Touch" said that he already has plans for the windfall.
"I want to get her bathroom done," the lucky winner said.
Considering he used numbers consisting of his birth date, the retired federal worker was incredibly excited about the win.
The fortunate player added: "I couldn't believe that number hit. I was very shocked and happy."
Based on the details released by the Maryland Lottery, the Prince George County resident is no novice player.
On the contrary, "Magic Touch" played the lottery for years. The lucky man admitted that he used his birthday numbers for the last three years.
Now that he had won the $50,000 Pick 5 top prize, the man admitted that he was happy that he persisted and used the same numbers over and over again.
Currently, there's a special promotion by the Maryland Lottery called Let it Snow.
The promotion, valid through December 29, grants Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5 players a chance to win a $2 or a $5 Instant Win voucher or a free $5 Merry Money Match FAST PLAY ticket.
The lucky lottery player who recently scored a $50,000 prize from Pick 5 purchased their ticket at Modern Liquors on 2358 Iverson Street in Temple Hills.
Considering that the retailer sold the top prize-winning ticket, they will be in for a treat, a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
Earlier this month, a great-grandmother won a hefty $200,000 scratch-off prize and admitted she will share it with her family.
The Reisterstown resident was shopping when she decided to try her luck with the Maryland Lottery's Ravens X10 scratch-off ticket.
To the surprise of the lucky winner, she scored one of the game's top prizes, $200,000.
