Another day, another jackpot millionaire has been minted. A lucky player from New Jersey was able to secure a $1,217,123 payout from Jersey Cash 5, a popular lottery game in the Garden State, the lottery shared in a press statement.
The player, who has not been named by the lottery, and about whom no further details are available, won from Monday’s lottery drawing, and they have already hurried to claim their reward.
The ticket itself was bought at the 6-12 Convenience Store on South Main Street in Marlboro, the lottery hurried to say, with the jackpot constituting a significant prize for anyone playing into the Jersey Cash 5 game, which habitually climbs past the seven-figure threshold and distributes some hefty rewards. The shop will receive a $2,000 bonus check for selling the winning ticket.
Monday’s winning numbers were also shared with the public, including 7, 14, 20, 29 and 42. The XTRA number was 3 and the Bullseye number was 7, the lottery explained. New Jersey has been a hot spot for big jackpot wins, including a recent $221m Powerball jackpot win in July.
Before that, the Garden State also saw the $1.13 Mega Millions won this March, with jackpots being a relatively frequent occurrence in one of the most populous states in the country.
While a person is expected to step forward and claim the reward from the Jersey Cash 5 game, the Monday and Tuesday prize pools have been rolled over to Wednesday.
Jersey Cash 5 game has been an important source of jackpots for the state. The lottery estimates that in 2023 alone around $63m was awarded in various prize money. The largest jackpot that year was $2.3m. In the meantime, the most recent winners have plenty of time to show up and claim their reward - one year from the draw.
