The leading gaming company that powers lottery and gambling operators across the globe, International Game Technology (IGT), announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Services Limited, inked a new multi-year contract in Germany.

LOTTO Thüringen inks seven-year deal with IGT

Under the terms of the new deal, the company joined forces with LOTTO Thüringen, the Thuringian State Lottery in Germany, agreeing to power its offering with leading technology.

The new seven-year contract is expected to start with the launch of the platform called Aurora, IGT's leading retail central system technology.

The launch is expected to be completed in March 2026.

Aurora is a major part of IGT's player-centric and omnichannel solution called OMNIA.

The capabilities of the technology are proven to boost profitability through innovative features.

The innovative platform offers a range of useful options, including user-friendly applications, and a range of tools and capabilities for analysis.

Ultimately, Aurora will help facilitate LOTTO Thüringen's entire operations, including management of games, back office and processing of transactions.

The deal will contribute to the lottery operator's growth

Jay Gendron, IGT's Chief Operating Officer, Global Lottery, shared his excitement about the latest announcement in a statement.

He spoke about the central retail platform's capabilities and solutions that can help propel the growth of LOTTO Thüringen.

Gendron added: "With this long-term contract extension, LOTTO Thüringen is well-positioned to continue benefiting from IGT's secure, responsible and modernized technology and software."

Finally, the executive said: "Leveraging these best-in-class solutions will aid in the Lottery's goals of supporting good causes throughout the state."

Similar excitement was demonstrated by Jochen Staschewski, LOTTO Thüringen's Chief Executive Officer.

He acknowledged the successful relationship the Lottery has had with IGT for more than a decade.

Moreover, Staschewski pointed out: "Upgrading our central retail system to IGT's advanced platform and back-end software will enable us to streamline our business processes and continue operating with the highest levels of efficiency."

Only recently, IGT scored a 10-year lottery solutions agreement with Loterie Nationale, Luxembourg's national lottery.

Ahead of that announcement, the company was recognized with iCAP Ready accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling.

The prestigious achievement highlighted IGT's dedication to player protection and responsible gambling.

As a leading supplier of technology to lottery companies across the globe, IGT currently delivers its services to 26 out of 46 lotteries in the United States.

On a global scale, the company powers eight out of the world's top 10 largest lottery operators.
