Welcome, Brooke Hilton

PointsBet Canada has a new Head of Casino with Brooke Hilton, a seasoned iGaming veteran, stepping into the coveted position. Canada is one of PointsBet’s stomping grounds and as such, the company is determined to grow locally and pursue further opportunities.

Having the right person at the helm of its online casino division is part of realizing this long-term ambition. Commenting on her appointment, Brooke Hilton said that she was passionate about her work and the opportunity to be a part of PointsBet Canada’s team.

She also brings more than 10 years of experience to the table, making her a valuable place within the PointsBet ecosystem. Hilton added:

"I have dedicated myself to the Canadian igaming industry for the past 10-plus years. I’m absolutely thrilled to align my passion with a company as influential as PointsBet Canada."

Hilton’s industry track record is indeed long and impressive. Other than starting in her current position as Head of Casino, she has previously worked for almost two years with Bally’s Interactive as Director if iGaming Products for North America.

She also held the position of Slots and Tables Product Manager for Online Casino at British Columbia Lottery Corporation and briefly worked with Ingenuity Gaming, a B2B technology service.

Meanwhile, Fanatics Betting and Gaming is finalizing the acquisition of PointsBet’s assets in the United States, which almost sparked a bidding war between DraftKings and Fanatics but was later chalked up to a strategic overture by DraftKings to loosen up one of its emerging competitor’s wallets.

PointsBet did not object, securing a nice premium on the initial deal and ultimately selling its business in the United States for $225m. As to Canada, the market is also developing and looking forward to the expansion of both sports betting and iGaming, which has been a rather more vocal topic among legislators and consumers.

Canada seems to lack the level of local opposition that individual US states tend to show when talking about online casinos, meaning that PointsBet is in a good position to benefit from a market that is readying to expand in the coming years and months.
