Abios selects Anton Janér for Managing Director role

Kambi Group's esports subsidiary, Abios, announced a new senior-level appointment on Tuesday this week. The company revealed it has selected its co-founder and CTO, Anton Janér, for the role of Managing Director. Stepping into the new role, effective from May 1, the executive succeeds Oskar Bonnevier Fröberg, the company's long-term CEO, who decided to step down from his role.

Janér and Fröberg co-founded Abios more than a decade ago, in 2013. As CEO, Fröberg oversaw the company's growth for more than a decade, allowing it to reach millions of esports fans across the globe. Additionally, the former CEO also played a key role in the acquisition of Abios by Kambi Group dating back to 2021.

Thanks to Fröberg's expert advice and strategic guidance, the acquisition was completed seamlessly, paving the way for Abios' future expansion and growth. Known as a leading supplier of esports data, the company has a growing portfolio of partners and employs more than 70 workers across the globe.

In a statement released by Abios, Fröberg commented on the topic revealing that he leaves the company with "mixed emotions." He added: "This decision has not been an easy one, as I have dedicated more than 10 years of my life to building and leading this organization together with Anton." Finally, Fröberg pointed out: "However, we could not have found a better home for Abios than Kambi nor could I have found a better successor than Anton, giving me every confidence that Abios will only flourish moving forward."

Janér also joined the discussion and added: "I am honored to take on the role of Managing Director and lead Abios into its next chapter. Oskar and I have had a lot of fun together throughout the years at Abios, building the company into the industry leader it is today." Finally, the company's new Managing Director explained: "I am very excited about the future of Abios and eager to take the business to new heights alongside our excellent team."

Throughout his career with the company, Janér played an important role in the development of its market-leading esports solutions. His strategic guidance and advice were pivotal for the company's expansion and growth on a global scale over the last decade. Undoubtedly, Janér will continue to guide Abios and help the company reach a new level of growth.
