With UFC White House set to be a controversial affair, and even somewhat underwhelming, fans do have something to look forward to now, as Josh Hokit is going to make an ad-hoc appearance on the ticket.
The reason? His formidable performance at UFC 327, which left fans roaring under the approving gaze of President Donald Trump, perched next to Dana White, UFC’s boss.
Hokit defeated his opponent, Curtis Blaydes, in what was one of the most spectacular performances to ever unfold at the UFC octagon, with hundreds of combined significant strikes thrown by both players, but Blaydes eventually succumbed in the series.
The fight went the distance, and White quickly pronounced the bout to be "The Fight of the Night," which is tied to performance bonuses to Hokit’s delight.
But it’s not how impressed President Trump was with Hokit that will see the man also participate in the White House UFC card on June 14, 2026.
No, rather President Trump mused why Derrick Lewis was not invited to the event, which prompted White to quickly pronounce that he would indeed be there - fighting the up-and-comer Hokit whose track record now sits at 3-0. This comes despite White’s personal beef with Hokit.
White finds him to be too boastful, and hasn’t been a ‘fan," but he acquiesced that Hokit’s performance has been deserving of praise at UFC 327. Both Hokit and Blaydes had to be taken to the hospital after the event, with Blaydes’ face bashed to a pulp.
"When people come out and say stupid ---- and have that sort of schtick, it’s not my thing. But nothing but respect for both of those men tonight, and that fight was unbelievable. And, yeah, you won’t hear a word out of me from here on out about him," White added about Hokit.
