Ahead of the National Football League (NFL) 2027 quarterback rookie draft class, Jason La Canfora, the award-winning NFL reporter, insider and analyst, speaks about some of the challenges the Cleveland Browns may face.
In an exclusive interview for Casino Guru News, the expert explained: "But the reality for the Browns is their next real quarterback isn’t on this roster. And the Browns will spend a lot of time investigating, studying, scouting this 2027 quarterback rookie draft class."
La Canfora added: "They’re going to be in a position to draft really high again because they don’t have a quarterback now. And they’re going to be selling their future with whomever they draft by next spring."
According to the NFL insider and analyst, such a future for the Browns is likely and the recent trade of Miles Garrett is a testament that they are in a "rebuilding/tanking mode."
On the other hand, La Canfora also spoke about Deshaun Watson, predicting that he likely won’t be "holding up for 17 weeks."
"So he’ll earn his money for a while," the award-winning NFL reporter, analyst and expert added.
In the meantime, according to La Canfora, the Browns will examine some of the young quarterbacks to determine what they are capable of doing and what their weak spots are, and importantly, whether they can keep some of them as backup when a rookie is drafted.
"And maybe Jimmy Haslam gets a cop pick with Deshaun Watson signed somewhere else as a free agent, but we kind of doubt that as well," La Canfora said.
Finally, the expert outlined: "It’s one of the worst transactions in modern sports history, and the Browns are stuck with it for another year, and Deshaun Watson’s going to have to play some football to get that money."
