The leading esports organization connecting the U.S. and Asia, Gen.G, emerged as the winner of the 2026 Woori Bank League of Legends Final.

The popular team faced Hanwha Life Esports and ultimately won on September 13.

Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports clash

The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) is organized by Riot Games and represents the South Korean professional league for League of Legends (LoL).

During the final of the tournament, taking place over the weekend, Gen.G was pitted against Hanwha Life Esports.

The first game was won by the latter team, but Gen.G quickly recovered, and two early kills by Kim "Kiin" Gi-in during the second game helped the team settle the score.

During the third game, Gen.G maintained the positive momentum and secured another win against Hanwha Life Esports.

In the end, Gen.G won the fourth game, securing their latest LCK championship title with a 3-1 score.

Interestingly, this victory saw Gen.G win the LCK back-to-back after emerging as the winners of the tournament in 2025.

The win marks a major milestone for Gen.G

Park Jae-hyeuk, who was quoted by local media outlets, said: "I’m happy to achieve consecutive LCK titles as part of Gen.G, which has a great head coach, coaching staff and great players, and winning MVP as well feels amazing."

"I will do my best to win the LoL World Championship in the United States," the star esports player added.

For his outstanding performance, Jae-hyeuk secured the Finals MVP recognition.

Besides winning the LCK title back-to-back, Gen.G’s participation this year marked their sixth title with that name and seventh overall, as they competed under a different name before.
