AG.AL becomes Club Champion as EWC 2026 wraps up

After seven weeks of competitive esports action in Paris, France, the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 wrapped up.

The exciting esports event attracted millions of visitors and viewers and marked the first edition of the EWC outside Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

As the competition wrapped up, AG.AL emerged as the EWC 2026 Club Champion.

The accolade marks a historic milestone for AG.AL

The renowned esports organization reached the Club Championship spot with 5,300 points, securing the $7m top prize.

Notably, AG.AL won the recent Trackmania tournament, guaranteeing its position as EWC 2026 Club Champion.

Over the course of the esports competition, which featured more than 2,000 players from 200 clubs coming from more than 100 countries across the globe, there were 25 tournaments in 24 popular games.

This event this year featured a record-breaking $75m prize pool.

Throughout the tournament, AG.AL advanced with ease and, besides a top spot in Trackmania, won the TEKKEN 8 tournament and emerged in second place in Free Fire, the Honor of Kings World Cup and Chess.

Adding to AG.AL’s points was also a third-place finish in Teamfight Tactics.

The EWC 2026 Club Championship top five teams were as follows:

  • AG.AL - 5,300 points
  • Team Falcons - 4,600 points
  • Team Vitality - 3,300 points
  • Natus Vincere - 2,950 points
  • Team Liquid - 2,700 points

Eddy Chen, COO at AG.AL, spoke about the team’s recent performance, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.

"When we began expanding AG.AL globally in 2024, the same year the Esports World Cup launched, we set out to build a Club capable of succeeding across games, regions and cultures. This title shows how far that vision has come," he said.

"Winning the Club Championship is a historic milestone for AG.AL and a proud moment for everyone who believed in what we are building," Chen explained in conclusion.

EWC is proud of the international growth of the event

The EWC 2026 brought record-breaking results, attracting more than 2 million viewers across its venues, Fan Fest and activations.

At the same time, ticket sales compared to 2025 soared by 94%, hitting 175,000.

Equally important, many esports fans tuned in online, with the event recording 850 million viewers and 440 million hours watched, figures that signal a 13% and 26% year-over-year increase, respectively.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan al Saud, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Esports Foundation, commented, saying: "We are proud of what the Esports World Cup has achieved in Paris and of its continued international growth."

"I extend my congratulations to all the players, Clubs, publishers, partners and organizers who contributed to this edition. Paris has been an important chapter in the EWC journey, and we look forward to building on this progress in the years ahead," His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan al Saud outlined in conclusion.
