Eden Hazard’s days in Chelsea and Real Madrid may be behind him, but he is not past soccer, and the star player has now joined Stake as the platform’s global ambassador.
Stake is a world-beating casino and sportsbook that has been expanding its reach ahead of the 2026 World Cup, with the former Belgian winger a worthwhile addition to the platform’s ambassador team.
Hazard, who is 35 and retired, has had multiple successes and won a series of accolades, including the Champions League, two Premier League titles, two La Liga titles, and two Europa League titles, as per the official press statement released by the company.
Stake has picked the player owing to his celebrity status in the world of sports, with a social media following of more than 58m people across multiple channels, such as Instagram, Facebook, and X. Not least, Hazard is also followed on the Chinese platform Weibo with 3.75m users locally, making him one of the most-followed athletes in the country.
Hazard’s legacy is well-recognized across the sports world, and he is an indelible figure in the game’s modern history, offering Stake the opportunity to engage with existing and new fans.
Stake Chief Marketing Officer Akhil Sarin had this to add on the occasion: "With the 2026 World Cup set to be the biggest football tournament in history, this is a defining moment for fans and brands alike. Eden Hazard is a player who embodies creativity, flair, and big-stage performance - qualities that resonate strongly with our global community."
Stake’s roster of ambassadors already runs an impressive gamut of various athletes, with more soccer partnerships likely to arrive as the world draws closer to the World Cup.
Hazard himself welcomed the opportunity to join the Stake’s team, and said: "Football fans worldwide are incredibly passionate and dedicated, and I’m delighted to collaborate with a brand that truly understands and celebrates that energy, while delivering innovative, community-focused experiences. Let’s make the journey one to remember."
