Amid a rapid expansion of the iGaming and sports gambling sectors in the United States, with Florida joining in recently, a new initiative has been undertaken by some of the locally represented affiliate gambling companies.

As a result, six companies have come together to form the RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING AFFILIATE ASSOCIATION (RGAA), an official press release stated, revealing details about these businesses’ ongoing commitment to providing players with a safe and secure environment in which they can navigate the ever-expanding market for gambling products in the country.

RGAA is set as an alliance between Oddschecker, Global Media, XLMedia, SpotlightSports Group, Gambling.com Group, Catena Media, and Better Collective, with the six partners vowing to make the affiliate market safer for consumers.

This comes at an important time as the American Gaming Association (AGA) has long warned about the dangers of the offshore and unregulated market which continues to target players in the country, and consumers who are still not completely sure which websites are legitimate operators.

The RGAA will focus on five main pillars, to wit Consumer Protection, Empowerment and Choice, Industry Education, Promotion of CompetitiveGamblingMarkets, Responsible Business Practices, and Advertising Codes of Conduct. The idea is to get ahead of issues that are inherent to the gambling industry and that will surface sooner or later.

By importing the best lessons from other heavily regulated markets, the RGAA can get ahead and ensure that the gambling industry operates in a sustainable way. The RGAA has yet to decide on a permanent President who will help the organization spearhead its mission and turn it into a strong standard for gambling in the United States.

Naturally, the move was welcomed by all founding companies and their executives and representatives. Better Collective CEO of NA Mark Frank Pederson welcomed the chance to create standards and guidelines that focus on consumer interest.

Catena Media CEO Michael Daly was similarly pleased to be a part of the RGAA. Gambling.com Group CEO Charles Gillespie said that the organization will ensure that consumer protection standards "remain high." His colleague from Oddschecker, Stuart Simms said that the RGAA is all about fair play for all.

SSG CEO Mark Renshaw said the RGAA is set to play a key role in upholding high standards for the affiliate standards, and not least, XLMedia plc CEO David King said that the organization is set to provide critical guidance to businesses and consumers.
