Workers at the Sphere in Las Vegas join Teamsters

Nearly two dozen workers at the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas agreed to unionize with the goal of securing higher wages and better job benefits.

22 warehouse workers unionize

Recognized as the highest-grossing arena in the world, the Sphere in Las Vegas sold 1.7m tickets throughout 2025.

At the same time, the go-to entertainment destination in Sin City generated $781.4m in revenue during last year.

Now, a total of 22 warehouse workers at the Sphere, in charge of receiving and managing all deliveries, voted overwhelmingly to unionize with Teamsters Local 986.

The employees play a key role in ensuring that the Sphere’s music and entertainment arena continues to operate.

By joining Teamsters, the workers can expect safer working conditions, higher wages and respect on the job, among other work benefits.

Tim Vera, Teamsters Local 986’s President, spoke about the leadership role of the Sphere within the entertainment industry in Las Vegas.

"It has become one of the biggest venues on the planet because of the workers who keep it operating," the executive said.

Moreover, Vera pointed out: "Our newest members won't settle for scraps. We're taking our fight to the table to win a strong first contract."

Tommy Blitsch, Director of the Teamsters Convention, Trade Show, and Casino Division, was similarly thrilled with the landmark announcement.

He deemed the warehouse workers the "heartbeat of the Sphere" and one of the reasons why every show there is incredibly popular and successful.

"They set the standard at one of the most high-profile venues in the world," Blitsch added.

Beverly Wilson, a warehouse worker at the Sphere and a proud new member of Teamsters Local 986, admitted that she and her coworkers are excited and proud to unionize.

"This win is just the beginning, and I'm excited for the positive changes ahead," Wilson said.

Only recently, Teamsters expanded the number of employees it represents after workers at Indiana's Blue Chip Casino voted to join Teamsters Local 135.
