Sphere Entertainment strengthens C-suite with Jennifer Koester appointment

The leading live entertainment and media company, Sphere Entertainment, announced a new senior-level appointment. The company confirmed it strengthened its team with the appointment of the seasoned veteran with more than 25 years of experience in different sectors, Jennifer Koester. Although Sphere Entertainment announced the appointment earlier this week, it confirmed that Koester will assume her role as President, Sphere Business Operations starting on February 5, 2024.

Joining the company's C-suite, she is expected to play a pivotal role in the growth of Sphere, the "next-generation entertainment medium that is redefining the future of live entertainment." Back in September, Sphere Entertainment announced the opening of its first Sphere venue located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In her new role as President, Sphere Business Operations, Koester will collaborate with the company's leadership team with the ultimate goal to sign new partnerships and increase the number of shows. One of her main priorities would be bookings "only in Sphere," which can include collaborations with different artists or musicians.

In a statement, Koester shared her excitement by explaining: "The opportunity to join the Sphere team and be part of this next-generation entertainment medium is a tremendous opportunity." Finally, she pointed out: "Throughout my career, I have focused on pioneering and delivering growth strategies that bridge business needs and leverage new technologies, and I am excited to bring that experience to Sphere."

James Dolan, Sphere Entertainment's Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, welcomed Koester to the company's growing team of experts. "We have seen a strong worldwide reaction to Sphere from customers, brands and artists since our September opening, and we look forward to leveraging Jennifer's extensive background driving growth at premier technology and entertainment brands as we continue to build our Sphere business," he added.

Currently, Koester holds a bachelor's degree in management information systems and services from Binghamton University. She also has a J.D. from St. John's University School of Law.

Joining Sphere Entertainment, Koester brings more than 25 years of experience within a wide range of verticals, including digital business, technology, marketing and sales. As a seasoned veteran with extensive knowledge, she was a part of globally recognized companies.

Before her appointment at Sphere Entertainment, she held the role of Managing Director, Americas Strategic Alliances, Global Partnerships with Google Commercial Operations. Before that, she served as Google's Director, Telecommunications and Video Distributors, Global Partnerships.

In her new role at Sphere Entertainment, Koester will report to Dolan. As President, Sphere Business Operations, she will be based in New York.
