  • Executives at Brightstar Lottery share their excitement

Brightstar Lottery, the leading provider of lottery technology, games and solutions, released its Q2 2026 results, recording sustained growth and better-than-expected Adjusted EBITDA.

Better-than-expected Adjusted EBITDA and solid financial performance

The financial results, covering the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, reveal that the company’s revenue during the period was $584m.

This figure, the company said, reflected sustained growth in global lottery same-store sales that was partially offset by several challenges.

Per Brightstar Lottery’s report key growth drivers included 1.5% global same store growth, complemented by positive mix in the United States, as well as Italy B2C digital expansion.

In contrast, the company’s revenue was partially offset by U.K. service contract transition, lower product sales and higher service revenue amortization tied to its Italy Lotto license.

Further details disclosed by Brightstar Lottery reveal that its income from operations in Q2 this year was $56m, compared to a loss of $60m for the corresponding quarter in 2025.

Equally as important, Adjusted EBITDA increased by 4% year-over-year to $286m, from $274m during the second quarter last year.

The company acknowledged that the Adjusted EBITDA result was better-than-expected, attributing the increase on same-store sales flow growth and disciplined operational management, including OPtiMa cost efficiencies and savings.

Partial offsets to the Adjusted EBITDA growth include U.K. service contract transition and investments in various growth initiatives.

Brightstar Lottery enjoys better-than-expected Q2 profits

Max Chiara,Brightstar Lottery’s CFO, spoke about the recently released financial report, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.

"Cash generation was strong in the first half of the year, funding important investments in the business," he said.

Moreover, Chiara outlined that the company is increasing its OPtiMa cost savings target to $100m by 2028 as it targets further optimization of its operations.

"Thestrength of our balance sheet and financial condition supports our balanced approach to capital allocation, which included returning $140m to shareholders in the year-to-date period," the executive said in conclusion.

Vince Sadusky, CEO of Brightstar, was similarly excited.

"Better-than-expected second quarter profits were driven by global same-store sales expansion and disciplined operational management, even as we invest in long-term growth initiatives," he explained.

Sadusky pointed to Brightstar Lottery’s accomplishments during Q2, which included significant expansion of the company’s B2C operations in Italy, as well as other major milestones.

"With the final Italy Lotto license payment behind us, revenue, profit, and cash flow are poised to inflect," he explained in conclusion.
