The recognizable gaming and entertainment resort in Atlantic City, Ocean Casino Resort, announced the return of its charity program for the fourth year.
Earlier this week, the casino resort highlighted a number of initiatives that seek to spread holiday cheer to those in need.
The efforts are part of Ocean Casino Resort's Season of Giving initiative, which contributes to local charities and helps address issues such as homelessness, provide youth education and support, as well as other noble causes.
This year, Ocean Casino Resort donated more than $250,000 as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
In addition, the recognizable hotel and gaming destination provided vital support with more than 500 team member volunteer hours, supporting a range of initiatives and programs.
Besides Ocean Casino Resort team members, guests of the popular hotel and casino resort played an important role in raising money for donations.
Several homeless community programs in Atlantic City, namely Adelaide's Place, AMVETS Post 911 and AC Rescue Mission, benefitted from winter accessories, including socks, hats, scarves and gloves donated by Ocean Casino Resort employees.
Joining forces with Salvation Army, the coastal casino resort's team members purchased and donated more than 300 gifts, helping fulfill the wishes of disadvantaged children.
A long list of local organizations benefitted from Ocean Casino Resort's Seasons of Giving initiative, including Angels in Motion, The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, Covenant House, FACES 4 Autism, The Salvation Army, Atlantic County Toys for Kids and Oceanside Family Success Center, among others.
Bill Callahan, Ocean Casino Resort's General Manager, shared his excitement on the matter in a press release.
He revealed: "A primary focus for Ocean is giving-back to those most in need in our local community."
Last but not least, Callahan noted: "Our Season of Giving program caps our year-long charitable efforts and continues to bring joy to both those who participate as well as those it benefits; and that's what the holiday season is all about."
Besides the aforementioned donations and gifts, Ocean Casino Resort confirmed another upcoming initiative.
Next month, the hotel and casino resort will schedule a special cooking class with teenagers from the Boys & Girls Club.
The event, taking place on December 18, will help make and deliver meals to at-risk children and homeless people at the local Atlantic City Covenant House.
