The leading global betting, entertainment and gaming provider, Flutter Entertainment, announced important changes to its senior-level team.
On Friday, the company confirmed that its Group CFO, Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson, decided to step down from his role. The change is with immediate effect.
The announcement coincided with other important Flutter Entertainment news. On Friday, Flutter revealed its primary listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
This strategic move signaled the company's intention to capitalize on the potential for the market in North America. Moreover, it followed the passing of a resolution from Flutter's shareholders.
Ahead of announcing the NYSE debut, the company discussed the need for the Group CFO to spend more time in the United States. In a statement, Flutter explained: "the Board has recently engaged in a discussion with Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson concerning his ability to meet that requirement in light of his family commitments in the UK."
Subsequent to the discussion, the company's Board acknowledged that it would be in the best interest for Edgecliffe-Johnson to step down from his role. The leading global gaming and betting company said that Rob Coldrake succeeded Edgecliffe-Johnson with immediate effect.
John Bryant, Flutter's Chair, commented on the topic: "The Board welcomes the appointment of Rob as Group CFO and is especially delighted we were able to develop such a high-quality executive within our own business."
He added that the company expects to collaborate with Bryant who will play an important role for Flutter's future growth. Finally, Bryant thanked Edgecliffe-Johnson for his dedication and guidance.
Peter Jackson, the company's CEO, added: "I am delighted that Rob will become our next Group CFO." Last but not least, the executive said: "I would like to thank Paul for his contribution to the Group, particularly in relation to achieving our US primary listing, and I wish him and his family well."
Before his transition to a Group CFO role, Coldrake held the role of Chief Financial Officer. He initially joined Flutter back in 2020.
Prior to that, Coldrake was employed by TUI Travel plc. At the time, he held a number of important roles within the financial vertical. Coldrake's career started at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Although Flutter confirmed its primary listing on the NYSE, the company said that it remains eligible and trading on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
