Scientific Games agrees to modernize retail sales operations for WCLC

The world's largest lottery games company and fastest-growing lottery systems technology partner in North America, Scientific Games, continues its successful partnership with Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC).

The former announced on Thursday that its advanced retail technology will modernize in-store transactions and streamline operations for WCLC.

Thousands of retailers will benefit from Scientific Games' retail technology

Under a new contract between WCLC and Scientific Games, the latter will deploy its leading and innovative retail technology.

As a result, more than 5,000 retail outlets by WCLC across the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta will be modernized.

Under the modernization initiative, Scientific Games will deploy its next-gen retail ecosystem, which includes retailer terminal software and WAVE retailer point-of-sale-terminals.

Moreover, the alliance covers the company's award-winning retail self-service kiosks, PlayCentral, which have proven their efficiency thanks to advanced analytics and AI capabilities.

The alliance marks a major milestone in the context of the ongoing collaboration between Scientific Games and WCLC.

Initially, the two companies joined forces in 1999 when WCLC accessed an innovative central gaming system and sports betting platform.

A testament to the ongoing success of the agreement between the duo is WCLC's total sales result for 2025, which was $1.56bn, the second-highest in its history.

Michael Cardell, Scientific Games' Senior VP, Commercial Strategy and Growth, spoke with excitement about the new collaboration, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.

Moreover, Cardell pointed out: "Our integrated suite of retail technology is designed to help lotteries deliver better experiences to their players, stronger performance for retailers, agile operations and sustainability for success in the future."

Chris Santschi, WCLC's President and CEO, shared the positive vibe.

He acknowledged that WCLC continues to modernize its operations and engages in strategic investments that deliver exciting products and experiences to its growing player base.

"We look forward to working with Scientific Games to bring next-generation retail systems and software to our network, strengthening retail performance, enhancing player engagement, and supporting the long-term sustainability of lottery revenues across the region," Santschi said in conclusion.

Only recently, Scientific Games expanded its successful partnership with the Iowa Lottery.
