The American Gaming Association (AGA), the national trade group for the US casino industry, unveiled a senior-level hire Friday. The AGA said that it selected Maureen Beddis to join its executive team by appointing her as Senior Vice President, Membership and Events.

In her new role as a part of the AGA, Beddis will oversee strategic events such as the Global Gaming Expo (G2E). Additionally, she will be in charge of business development and members' relations. According to a statement released by the Association, Beddis' appointment is effective as of October 31, 2022.

Beddis shared her excitement by saying that it is thrilling to join AGA's dedicated team of experts and help it further advance its goal of helping the regulated gaming industry grow further. She added: "I look forward to working with the association's dynamic membership to deliver value and elevate AGA’s best-in-class events, including G2E."

Bill Miller, AGA's President and CEO, added: "We're delighted to welcome Maureen to the AGA at this critical time for our association and industry." He explained that Beddis has a track record in delivering strong results, as well as executing strategic objectives. In conclusion, Miller said: "Her significant experience as an association executive will bolster our already strong team and help lead our organization into the future."

Before joining the AGA, Beddis accumulated significant industry experience. She was part of The Vision Council, a non-profit trade association that represents manufacturers and suppliers as a part of the optical industry. Overall she was a part of the Council for 16 years.

Most recently, as a part of The Vision Council, Beddis served as an Executive Vice President, Membership and Strategic Initiatives. During her tenure, she was in charge of organizing its strategy and operations. Moreover, Beddis played a key role in organizing different initiatives and programs related to harvesting new talent. While a part of The Vision Council, she held a pivotal role in liaising between the Council and Vision Expo shows.

During the pandemic, Beddis played a key role in the Council by redefining its strategy and implementing efficiency programs. In turn, this helped create new streams of revenue for the organization. Besides the position of Executive Vice President, she also held key roles related to marketing and communications.

Earlier this month, the AGA revealed it remains optimistic about the future of the regulated gaming industry in the country. This comes, despite the unstable economic environment. On that topic, at the time of the announcement, Miller said: "Our industry remains cautiously optimistic—and has weathered this volatile economy— because of resilient consumer demand."
