Racecourse Media Group names Nick Mills Chief Executive Officer

Racecourse Media Group (RMG), the holding company owned 100% by racecourse shareholders, responsible for the management of data and media rights of racecourses, strengthened its team with a fresh Chief Executive Officer (CEO) appointment.

Nick Mills to take the reins as CEO from November

This summer, the Group confirmed that its CEO, Martin Stevenson, plans to step down from his role.

Now, following what was described by RMG as a rigorous recruitment process, the company selected Nick Mills for the strategic CEO role.

Currently, the executive holds the role of Chief Commercial Officer with the group.

However, as announced in a press release from RMG, Mills is set to succeed Stevenson as CEO on November 4, 2024.

RMG is positioned well for further growth

Conor Grant, RMG's Chair, praised Mills for his dedication, success and leadership demonstrated over his nearly two decades with the company.

Grant said that it is thrilling to see Mills fill in the role of CEO of RMG.

"With his extensive expertise in sales, marketing, media rights and streaming, Nick is uniquely positioned to drive growth and optimize the value of our member racecourses’ media rights, while also embracing the need for innovation," added Grant.

RMG's Chair pointed to Mills' extensive knowledge and deep understanding of the company's operating model.

Grant also spoke about Stevenson, RMG's outgoing CEO.

He praised Stevenson's dedication, contributions and leadership that helped RMG record outstanding results and position the company on a path to growth and innovation.

"Martin leaves the business in a strong position for Nick and the team to build on. We wish him the very best for the future," said Grant in conclusion.

Mills was similarly thrilled to become RMG's new CEO.

"I am honored to be given the opportunity to succeed Martin as Chief Executive and to lead the brilliant team at Racecourse Media Group," he explained.

The upcoming CEO said that despite some challenges, he believes RMG will continue to grow and expand while leveraging innovation.

Initially, Mills joined RMG back in 2005 when the company was known as Racing UK.

At the time, he held the role of Sales and Marketing Director.

Going up the ranks, Mills was appointed to the role of Commercial Director before being promoted to Chief Commercial Officer in 2020.

Undoubtedly, the extensive experience at RMG and deep knowledge will help Mills in his role as CEO.

Earlier this year, RMG selected Ben Dowding for the important role of Chief Betting Officer.

Ahead of his appointment, Dowding served as Director of Betting.
