  • GRID and Polymarket have put pen to paper on a new deal
  • The latter will bolster its offering by accessing quality esports data supplied by the former
  • Polymarket’s President of Sports Business Development, Ari Borod, speaks with excitement about the new collaboration

The world’s leading prediction market platform, Polymarket, signed a groundbreaking partnership with the official live esports data provider, GRID.

Announced earlier this week, the alliance grants the former access to the latter’s quality data.

Polymarket bolsters offering with esports data

Notably, the landmark agreement will enable Polymarket to give traders everything they need for esports trading within a single platform.

This includes official real-time data derived directly from game servers, as well as interactive match widgets.

At the same time, GRID supplies Polymarket with ad-free live streaming capabilities.

The major partnership comes ahead of IEM Cologne Major, League of Legends MSI and VALORANT Masters London, supercharging Polymarket at a strategic moment in an action-packed esports calendar.

The collaboration with GRID follows scrutiny Polymarket is facing across the United States.

In mid-May, the Rhode Island AG had gone after the platform and its competitor, Kalshi, insisting that gambling laws apply to them.

Both Polymarket and Kalshi argued that they don’t operate as sportsbooks but as trading platforms.

In the country, trading platforms are overseen by the U.S. Commodity Futures and Trading Commission and not state-by-state gambling regulators.

Ari Borod, Polymarket’s President of Sports Business Development, spoke with excitement about the new partnership with GRID.

"Esports moves fast, and so should the markets built on it," the executive explained.

Moreover, Borod pointed out: "GRID gives our users official data with lower latency and access to live streams in real time, all in one place."

Lastly, he said: "It's a better, differentiated experience for traders and a bigger opportunity for the sport."
