The Las Vegas Grand Prix is to be a fixture in the motorsports world's racing calendar over the next ten years, with the race confirmed to be held out of Sin City through 2037.
The Formula 1 race arrived to Las Vegas for the first time in 2023, and was a highly-anticipated event, although it brought with it a lot of disruption for local businesses located near or in the track's path, causing pushback from owners.
Some owners allege that they have lost millions of dollars due to accessibility issues tied to the construction works. A point of contention also arose when the F1 and Clark County disputed a $40m bill for repaving, which was ultimately covered by the motorsports organization as a show of good will.
The race stretches 6.2 kilometers at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit which is purpose-built ahead of the race. Since the race launched, the event was won twice by Max Verstappen - the inaugural edition as well as the most recent one in 2025. George Russell took the top spot in 2024.
Concerns remain, although Las Vegas has promised to expedite the construction of the raceway and ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum. Commenting on the ten-year extension, F1 President and Chief Executive Stefano Domenicali welcomed the expansion.
"Since its debut in 2023, the event has been extraordinary, rapidly establishing itself as a premier destination for great racing, world-class entertainment, global business leaders, A-list celebrities and influencers," Domenicali said.
The Las Vegas GP will be returning to the city on November 21, 2026, reuniting the very best Formula 1 drivers.
Detailing the extension, race officials said that the F1 race has had a significant economic impact on the city, bringing in an estimated $3.2bn in the first three years of the edition alone.
In 2025 alone, the event is estimated to have generated $43m in local tax revenue. Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority CEO Steve Hill called the extension a significant moment in the city's history, saying it cements Las Vegas' role as a major hub for culture, competition and entertainment during race week.
